EAST JACKSON — Coming soon, Match.com can set you up with people who look like your ex for $ 5,000.

The website is teaming up with a matchmaking start-up that uses facial recognition to help you meet someone new…ish.

The match maker says if you like one facial structure, you will probably like someone with a similar facial structure.

The offer is getting mixed reviews from people here in Jackson.

“I think if you are going to go about it the right way, you are going to go out here and find that person instead of recycling on a internet dating service,” Andrew Short, who is against the service said.

Starting June 25, Match.com will send an email to targeted Match users inviting them to try this new approach.

Sometimes paying for the upgrades on dating sites is worth it. Sometimes it’s not. It just comes down to naming your price.

The popular dating site Match.com is promoting a new – and rather unorthodox – option. For a whopping $ 5,000, the site can hook you up with a date…. who looks just like your ex. 

Founder Talia Goldstein told Newsweek, “I noticed over the years that people have a type, and it’s not based on ethnicity or hair color or body type… Their faces look very similar. So what I did is introduce that technology on the back end for the matchmakers.”
